How to Clean Up Hard Disk?
The things you'll need:
- A hard disk.
- Disk cleaner software.
Does your PC run too slowly as it's years old? It may due to all the virtual junk that accumulates in there. It doesn't have to be that way. PCTuneUp Free Disk Cleaner is a free disk cleaner utility designed to help you find and delete unnecessary or unwanted files to turn your sluggish system back into the youthful zippy machine it once was.
Step 1. Download and Run Free Disk Cleaner
Click here to download PCTuneUp Free Disk Cleaner and install it. Double-click the icon to launch the program.
Step 2. Set Searching Options
Click "Options" to activate the "Advanced Settings" window to specify the search settings. There is a list of file extensions. The recommended file extensions are checked by default. You can click "Select All" and "Select None" to choose all of them or none. If you need to add more file extensions, click "Add..." button to input the file name or file type as well as the description for this type in the box. You can also delete the selected items by "Remove". To restore the default settings, click "Default".
Tip: the advanced feature is designed for professionals, making the scanning faster, safer and more accurate. If you are inexperienced, skip this tab.
Step 3. Choose a Folder or Hard Disk to Start Scan
Click "Scan Disk" to choose a folder or hard disk to scan for the junk files.
Tip: internal & external hard drives, flash drives, memory stick and tons of other US storage devices are supported. Just connect them to your computer and start our program and they will be detected and listed.
Step 4. Start Cleaning
The program will scan your selected folder or hard disk and list all the files with info like name, location and size. Click "Properties" to view their properties. Then, click "Clean Files" to move the files to trash. You can restore the deleted files from recycle bin if needed.
Tip: the processing time depends on the size and amount of useless files as well as how often you perform the cleanup.
